The Disphotic Zone is the "poorly lit" portion of the sea, below the top layer that gets all the light, and above the abyssal darkness of the aphotic zone. I imagine rolling undersea currents in the dim depths having a deep, dark, brooding blue such as this.

And on a personal note, this is a colour I've been trying to capture for a long time, so I'm pretty pleased that I've finally found the right balance between blue and darkness.

Sparkle Sock is my 75% Superwash Merino, 20% Nylon and 5% Silver Lurex base in sock weight. It’s super soft – especially once washed, and makes a wonderful base for fingering weight shawls, mitts, hats and even socks!

400m/437yards per 100g

This fabulous sparkly yarn is 4ply and plump! I’d recommend needle sizes between 2mm (though that is a very tight gauge) and 5.5mm depending on pattern and desired gauge.

All of my yarn is prepared and stored in a smoke and pet free environment.

Superwash wool can be machine washed on a delicates cycle at 30⁰c, but I would recommend hand washing and laying flat to dry. Do not machine wash non-superwash wool. I recommend hand washing in cool water with very little agitation and a gentle soap. Lay flat to dry.

I have done my best to accurately represent the true colour of the skeins with my pictures, but due to differences in screen settings, what you see may not be exactly the same shade as the pictures I’ve taken.

As with all hand dyed yarn, no two skeins will ever be identical. However, where possible I will send skeins from the same dye lot together. A little bit of colour run may happen in the first few washes, but this will be minimal.
