The Disphotic Zone is the "poorly lit" portion of the sea, below the top layer that gets all the light, and above the abyssal darkness of the aphotic zone. I imagine rolling undersea currents in the dim depths having a deep, dark, brooding blue such as this.

And on a personal note, this is a colour I've been trying to capture for a long time, so I'm pretty pleased that I've finally found the right balance between blue and darkness.

BFL Sock is a 4ply 100% Superwash Blue Faced Leicester wool. 100% British. It's strong, silky and lustrous. This yarn has an absolutely gorgeous halo to it, and despite not containing nylon, is perfect for socks knit at a tight gauge thanks to it's natural strength and high twist. (I'd reccomend 2mm needles for the best results with socks) 400m/437 yards per 100g.

All of my yarn is prepared and stored in a smoke and pet free environment.

Superwash wool can be machine washed on a delicates cycle at 30⁰c, but I would recommend hand washing and laying flat to dry. Do not machine wash non-superwash wool. I recommend hand washing in cool water with very little agitation and a gentle soap. Lay flat to dry.

I have done my best to accurately represent the true colour of the skeins with my pictures, but due to differences in screen settings, what you see may not be exactly the same shade as the pictures I’ve taken.

As with all hand dyed yarn, no two skeins will ever be identical. However, where possible I will send skeins from the same dye lot together. A little bit of colour run may happen in the first few washes, but this will be minimal.
