The Disphotic Zone is the "poorly lit" portion of the sea, below the top layer that gets all the light, and above the abyssal darkness of the aphotic zone. I imagine rolling undersea currents in the dim depths having a deep, dark, brooding blue such as this.
And on a personal note, this is a colour I've been trying to capture for a long time, so I'm pretty pleased that I've finally found the right balance between blue and darkness.
High Twist Sock is a plump 2ply sock yarn with a high twist. 85% Superwash extra-fine Merino (19.5 micron) 15% Nylon. The high twist nature of this yarn makes it extra springy and perfect for projects with colourwork and colourwork. Speckles really pop on this beauty. It's brilliant for socks, but just as perfect for any next-to-skin projects too. 360m/393 yards per 100g.
Reccommended needle size: Anything from 2.25mm to 6mm (for a lovely lose gauge)
All of my yarn is prepared and stored in a smoke and pet free environment.
Superwash wool can be machine washed on a delicates cycle at 30⁰c, but I would recommend hand washing and laying flat to dry.
I have done my best to accurately represent the true colour of the skeins with my pictures, but due to differences in screen settings, what you see may not be exactly the same shade as the pictures I’ve taken.
As with all hand dyed yarn, no two skeins will ever be identical. However, where possible I will send skeins from the same dye lot together. A little bit of colour run may happen in the first few washes, but this will be minimal.
